場所柄なのか、当院には外国人の患者様もいらしてくださいます。

旅行者の方や留学生の方などが多く様々な国籍の方々が来られます。

当院は英語での対応が可能ですが、それ以外の言語が必要な時にはポケトークという多言語対応自動翻訳機を使って対応いたします。

ポケトークはAIでdeep learningして勝手に進化していくとのことにて、日本中で利用されればされるほど、その経験値が蓄積されてより洗練された翻訳が可能となるようです。すごいですね。

私は学生時代にESSに所属しており、ハリーポッターが大好きだったのでハリーポッターを何度も何度も繰り返し見て英語を勉強していました。医者になってからは日常会話として英語を使う機会がほとんどなかったのですが、今になって様々な国籍の方と英語で交流できる機会があることがとても嬉しいです。

Due to our location, our clinic sometimes serves patients from foreign countries. Some are travelers or students, and they are  from various nations. Our clinic can provide practice in English, and for other languages, we use a multi-language automatic translation device called “poke-talk”. Poke-talk is powered by AI and deep learning, and it evolves on its own. The more it is used, the more it accumulates experience, allowing for more refined translations. It is impressive !

When I was a college student, I was a member of English Speaking Society (ESS). Since I loved Harry Potter, I used to watch the film again and again to study English pronunciation. After becoming a doctor, however, I had a very few opportunity to use English as a daily communication tool, although we obtain medical information from English papers. So I am really pleased to have opportunity to communicate in English with people from various nationalities.
